Overlooking the beautiful Nore Valley at Stoneyford in County Kilkenny is the home and glassworks of studio of glassblower Keith Leadbetter. Keith trained at the famous Orrefors Glass Factory in Sweden in the late sixties before settling with his wife Kathleen in his current location. At Jerpoint Studio glassmakers work in teams of two, making and finishing glass entirely by hand. They use simple hand tools like the puntil iron (see image) which have existed for two thousand years.
